Our incredibly creative TOPIC Interiors Interior Design Team regularly employ several different types of cost-effective wall treatments within the workspace settings they design, utilising paint effects, wallpaper, acoustic panelling and other types of wall treatments, in addition to various combinations of these different wall finishes, with striking end results.

Feature Wall Paint

Paint is perhaps the most versatile and cost-effective wall treatment available. It offers a vast array of colour options that can significantly impact the overall ambience of a workspace. Our Interior Designer’s choose paint colours that either add a sense of fun or foster a productive work atmosphere, in addition to creating a visually appealing environment. Here are some innovative ways to utilise paint within the workspace.

• Accent Walls: Using a bold and contrasting colour on a single wall can instantly add visual interest to a space.

• Writable Walls: Instead of your typical wall mounted whiteboard, why not have an entire writable wall? Wipe-clean paint finishes are a great alternative for interactive collab sessions.

Here’s how our TOPIC team use wallpaper creatively to enhance a workspace.

• Feature Walls: Similar to accent walls, a striking wallpaper design can serve as the focal point of a room while keeping the other walls more neutral.

• Subtle Textures: Textured wall papers mimic the look of more expensive materials like stone or fabric, adding depth and tactile interest to walls.

• Mural-Inspired Designs: Wallpaper murals can transform a workspace into an inspiring landscape, a cityscape, or any other captivating scenes. Wallpapers with a painterly effect, abstract design or photographic elements are typically what our designers favour when selecting the perfect mural.

Acoustic Panneling

Wall Panneling

Wall panelling is a versatile and budget-friendly way to add architectural interest and texture to workspace walls. While traditional wood panelling can be expensive, there are affordable alternatives that offer a similar effect. Our design team employ wall panelling in various ways…

• Timber Laminate Wall Panelling: Engineered wood battens that mimic the look of real wood are more affordable and easier to install, offering a cozy and welcoming feel.

• Wainscoting: Installing panelling on the lower portion of the wall, known as ‘wainscoting’ can add a touch of elegance and sophistication to the workspace.

• Patterned Panelling: Using panelling to create patterns, such as herringbone or chevron designs, can add a dynamic visual element to walls.

• Vertical Panelling: Vertical panelling can elongate a room and create a sense of height, making it an effective choice for smaller spaces.

Combinations

Our TOPIC Designers often select a combination of wall treatments for certain areas to great effect. This can serve the purpose of being both functional (if acoustic panelling is used) and decorative (if various pain finishes are used).
